Concrete Collection (2018)
A home goods collection that is intended to speak on the lack of design and arts education for children growing up in underfunded, overlooked and struggling areas. Many children of color grow up believing the only way they can make it is by playing sports, music or pursuing some form of entertainment. I wanted to show kids that design and creativity is an option.
Concrete is the material used for side walks so I decided to use it as the main material in my project as a metaphor for design taking kids off the street and putting them on “the sidewalk.”
